Ghadir Celebrations Held in the Shrine of Commander of the Faithful (a.s)

Students and teachers from the Islamic Seminary of Najaf held celebrations in Gharavi School located inside the Shrine of the Commander of the Faithful, Ali bin Abi Talib (a.s.). The celebrations were held on the occasion of the greater Eid, the Eid Ghadir Khum.
The program started with recitation of a few verses from the Holy Quran followed by elegies presented by poets and eulogists in Arabic, Urdu and Farsi about the virtues and excellences of the Commander of the Faithful, Ali, peace be upon him.
Famous poets from India and Pakistan and Mr. Muayyed Khurasani from Iran were some of the guests present in this program.
The program started at 8:00 PM and continued until 1:00 AM with poets and eulogists presenting their poems and reciting elegies in commemoration of the immediate successor of the Holy Prophet – peace be upon him and his noble progeny - and also about and goals of Ghadir and the responsibilities of the proponents of Ghadir over the history.
Addressing the gathering, His Eminence Ayatollah Mahmud Bahrul Ulum Mirdamadi expressed happiness over his success to attend the program on the night of Ghdadir. Meanwhile he said, "The event of Ghadir Khum is inexplicable and there is no word that can describe the greatness of this event but we should know this much that tonight is the night of the celebration of the religion not the night of the celebration of a particular denomination. As Allah, the Exalted, says, "Today, I have completed for you your religion and perfected My bounties upon you…".
"It is a matter is religion and wilayah and Imamate are the roots of the religion. It is the question of faith not a secondary religious issue," His Eminence reiterated.
Referring to the special Ziyarat of the Commander of the Faithful (a.s.) on the Day of Ghadir, he said, "It has been said in the Ziyarat in an address to Our Master, the Commander of the Faithful (a.s.), 'Greetings to the religion of Allah which is strong and formidable…'. The Commander of the Faithful – peace be upon him – is the religion of God and if anyone is alienated with him, he is alienated with God's religion. It becomes quite clear from this Ziyarat as to what "Seek knowledge and understanding of the religion" means."
Addressing the seminary students in the gathering, His Eminence said, "The religious students must engage in studying and understanding the concept of wilayah and Imamate and then they should deal with secondary jurisprudential issues. In fact, one should know his Imam and the Proof of God before knowing anything else."
"The followers of the caliphs should know that Saqifa cannot overtake Ghadir and it is our duty to spread the culture of Ghadir all over the world and let not Ghadir be put into oblivion. If the enemies of the Ahlul-Bait (a.s) broke the divine mirrors, they should know that these mirrors do not break anymore," he added.
He concluded that the day of reappearance would be the day of the reappearance of the foundations of Ghadir and everyone would be able to taste the sweetness of the water from Ghadir spring…that He may make it overcome the religions, all of them. Everyone will witness the heavenly greatness of the twelfth Ali.
