Ayatollah Sanad Al-Bahrani meets Ayatollah Bahrul Ulum

Ayatollah Sayyid Mahmood Bahrul Ulum Mirdamadi welcomed Ayatollah Muhammad Sanad Al-Bahrani (may Allah grant the long life) at his residential place in the holy city of Najaf. The two prominent scholars discussed the blessing  and divine gift of living nearby the Shrine of the Commander of the Faithful, peace be upon him. His Eminence, Ayatollah Bahrul Ulum said that wilayah (love of the Ahlulbayt and belief in their successorship to the Holy Prophet) is something to be imbibed. He narrated the story of Mawlawi Kandahari (may Allah bless his soul) and said that some scholars are successful in their Hawzah studies but are faced with serious problem in their wialyah. There are people who have an important place in delivering lectures and giving lessons in the seminary but when confronting wilayah related discussions, they feel deficient and fail to be up to the expectation. He said that some exegetes of the Holy Quran generalize the verses relating to wilayah due to the fact that they have not fully imbibed the very concept of wilayah.
His Eminence said that there are numerous verses which refer explicitly to wilayah and leadership of the Commander of the Faithful (a.s.) and his infallible descendants. He stressed that any interpretation other than their leadership on the part of the any scholars and interpreters would be a kind of malicious approach or would only signify their lack of knowledge and understanding of the concept of leadership. His Eminence pointed out the following verses as examples relating to wilayah of the Infallibles:
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate the Merciful
وَمَا يَعْلَمُ تَأْوِيلَهُ إِلَّا اللَّهُ وَالرَّاسِخُونَ فِي الْعِلْمِ يَقُولُونَ آمَنَّا بِهِ كُلٌّ مِنْ عِنْدِ رَبِّنَا وَمَا يَذَّكَّرُ إِلَّا أُوْلُوا الأَلْبَابِ.
He it is Who has sent down to thee the Book: In it are verses basic or fundamental (of established meaning); they are the foundation of the Book: others are allegorical. But those in whose hearts is perversity follow the part thereof that is allegorical, seeking discord, and searching for its hidden meanings, but no one knows its hidden meanings except Allah. And those who are firmly grounded in knowledge say: "We believe in the Book; the whole of it is from our Lord:" and none will grasp the Message except men of understanding.  
اَفَمَن کَانَ عَلَی بَیِّنَهٍ مِّن رَّبِّهِ وَیَتْلُوهُ شَاهِدٌ مِّنْهُ وَمِن قَبْلِهِ کِتَابُ مُوسَی إَمَامًا وَرَحْمَهً اُوْلَئِکَ یُوْمِنُونَ بِهِ وَمَن یَکْفُرْ بِهِ مِنَ الاَحْزَابِ فَالنَّارُ مَوْعِدُهُ فَلاَ تَکُ فِی مِرْیَهٍ مِّنْهُ إِنَّهُ الْحَقُّ مِن رَّبِّکَ وَلَکِنَّ اَکْثَرَ النَّاسِ لاَ یُوْمِنُونَ
Can they be (like) those who accept a Clear (Sign) from their Lord, and whom a witness from Himself doth teach, as did the Book of Moses before it,- a guide and a mercy? They believe therein; but those of the Sects that reject it,- the Fire will be their promised meeting-place. Be not then in doubt thereon: for it is the truth from thy Lord: yet many among men do not believe!
وَ یَقُولُ الَّذینَ کَفَرُوا لَسْتَ مُرْسَلاً قُلْ کَفی بِاللّهِ شَهیدًا بَیْنی وَ بَیْنَکُمْ وَ مَنْ عِنْدَهُ عِلْمُ الْکِتابِ
The Unbelievers say: "No messenger art thou." Say: "Enough for a witness between me and you is Allah, and such as have knowledge of the Book."
فَاسْئَلُوا اَهْل الذِّکْر اِنْ کُنْتُمْ لا تَعْلَمُون
“Ask the followers of the Remembrance if ye know not!”
His Eminence appreciated the efforts made by Ayatollah Sanad by teaching and training clerics. Meanwhile, he suggested that the subject of wilayah and imamate (leadership) be taught in the Islamic Seminaries in the same way as Fiqh and Usul are taught. He stressed on the need to work out comprehensive plans with the help of clerics and Hawzah veterans, albeit under the auspices of the grand religious authorities.
Referring to the all out anti-Shia propagations launched by misled sects and enemies of the Shia school of thought, he emphasized that the clerics should be fully prepared and equipped with the weapon of logic and reasoning in order to be able to defend the religion of Ahul-Bayt (a.s.). 
Ayatollah Sanad thanked Ayatollah Bahrul Ulum for his presence in the Islamic Seminary of Najaf. He said that it was a great blessing and an opportunity for him to be living nearby the shrine of the Commander of the Faithful, Ali (a.s). He also added that according to a narration ‘one night of staying and sleeping beside the Commander of the Faithful is tantamount to seven hundred years of worship’. He said that the book authored by him and entitled “al-Imamah Al-Elahiyah” about the Imam of Age, Imam Mahdi (atf) was an endeavor focusing on the subject of Imamate and Mahdawiyah. He also stressed on the need to defend Shia faith and ideology and to deal with the spurious arguments raised by Shia enemies here and there in the world.
